About the Position

 

Market Development & Sales Support Manager Japan

 

DeLaval is seeking an experienced Market Development & Sales Support Manager to lead market development, product portfolio management, and sales support activities in Japan. This is a senior commercial role with team leadership responsibility and close collaboration across local Sales, global Product Management & Development, global Manufacturing, and regional stakeholders.

This role will be critical for driving market growth, strengthening product leadership, and enhancing customer intimacy through effective go-to-market strategies, pricing, marketing communications, and sales enablement.

As the member of local leadership team, the role will contribute to transform a new way of working in Japan organization to create and achieve realization of market potential.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and develop the Market Development & Sales Support (MDSS) team, building strong commercial and marketing capabilities
  • Implement global strategy locally, with strong focus on product leadership and customer intimacy
  • Define and execute product portfolio and market development strategies to maximize market potential in Japan
  • Drive commercial development initiatives, including product launches, promotions, and annual marketing plans
  • Develop and manage pricing strategies that balance business objectives and customer satisfaction
  • Work closely with the Sales organization to align marketing activities and support sales performance
  • Support sales teams and dealers in key customer engagements and sales presentations
  • Manage product marketing activities including training, quality, pricing, and lifecycle management
  • Channel Management for product portfolio to achieve maximum brand awareness and sales growth
  • Deliver product, marketing, and sales support materials in line with global communication strategy and guidelines
  • Lead market intelligence and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and risks
  • Develop knowledge and information management strategy by collecting the best practices and troubles
  • Support the Clusters in the business case preparation for development of new products
  • Lead the team to build up commercial competence, launch training, features and benefit (product & service) training frame and deliver training to sales staff and dealers
  • Oversee public relations, advertising, and social media activities according to approved plans
  • Build strong internal and external networks to enhance collaboration and brand credibility

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

Education

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical, agricultural, or business discipline
  • Postgraduate qualification in Agriculture or Animal Sciences is an advantage

 

Experience

 

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in product portfolio management, sales, or marketing roles
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience managing and developing teams
  • Experience in the dairy industry or related sectors is preferred
  • Proven track record in building strong customer and business relationships
  • Experience in identifying and developing new business opportunities

  • Knowledge of related laws and regulations to operate the business
  • Fluency in spoken and written Japanese & English
