Role and responsibilities
As a Polymer Material Specialist, you will plan and lead material projects and tasks as well as having a coordinating role between testing, sourcing, suppliers and our production sites within your area. The daily work in this team is a mix of concept generation, compliance work, investigating new materials and testing materials all the way into serial production. We are also responsible for the quality and maintenance throughout the complete lifetime of our products.
Key responsibilities:
- Evaluations in lab and in field trials of developed material concepts
- Conduct and define experimental work and material analysis relevant to the projects
- Improvements and development of existing materials (e.g. thermoplastics, elastomers, thermosets)
- Compliance work regarding food contact
- Senior role regarding development of polymer materials
- Act as a reliable advisor regarding overall company material decisions
- Lead material projects or initiatives
- Close contact with suppliers and internal factories regarding material questions such as compounds and regulations on both new and old articles
Qualifications
To be successful in this role we believe that you have:
- MSc or PhD with industrial experience of product development
- Deep knowledge in polymer materials (including chemical knowledge) and good understanding in other materials
- Knowledge of chemical and environmental regulations
- Be goal oriented and have a structured way of approaching challenges
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Document work in a structured way and have hands-on experience of material testing.
- Be fluent in English, writing as well as speaking
- A driving license

Additional information
This is a full-time permanent position based at DeLaval’s headquarters in Tumba, south of Stockholm. We offer a hybrid workplace model, combining on-site work with flexibility to work remotely. Travel is occasionally needed in this position, both within Sweden and abroad.
